Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Introduction
Mait ("we", "our", or "us") operates an AI-powered content orchestration platform for independent retailers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our services, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, email address, and password.
- Billing information: processed by Paddle; we do not store card data.
- Organisation details: company name, website URL, industry.
- Content you submit for review, editing, or publishing.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, pipeline results, session duration.
- Device data: browser type, operating system, IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).
Information from third-party integrations
- Social media content from Instagram and Facebook via the Meta Graph API, when you authorise the connection.
- Product and blog data from Shopify and WordPress, when you connect those platforms.
- We only access data scopes you explicitly grant.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Service delivery — running AI pipelines to detect videos, generate blog posts, localise content, and publish to your connected platforms.
- Account management — authentication, billing, support, and notifications.
- Product improvement — understanding how features are used to improve quality, performance, and reliability.
- Security — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
- Legal compliance — meeting obligations under applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent.
4. Information Sharing
We share your information only in these circumstances:
- Sub-processors — AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), email delivery (Resend), analytics (PostHog), and payments (Paddle). Each is bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all assets, with prior notice to you.
- With your consent — for any other purpose, with your explicit permission.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. AI-generated content associated with your account is deleted within the same timeframe unless you have exported it.
6. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, least-privilege access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal data.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / Restriction — object to or restrict certain processing activities.
To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@mait.io. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies (session authentication, locale preference) and analytics cookies (PostHog, anonymised usage metrics). You can disable analytics cookies via the cookie banner or your browser settings without affecting core functionality.
9. Third-Party Services
Our service integrates with platforms operated by third parties (Meta, Shopify, WordPress, YouTube, TikTok). Your use of those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Mait after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
